Recently in an archeological excavation of some 500 feet depth last year, Russian scientists, found traces of copper wiring dating back some 1000 years. They came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network, one thousand years ago.
So immediately British scientist jumped into the credit wars and in the ensuing weeks that followed, British scientists dug 800 feet, and headlines flashed in the newspapers of Great Britain: "British scientists have found traces of 2000 year, old optical fibres, high-tech digital telephone 1000 years earlier than the Russians."
One week later, the Americans released the press report as the following:
"After digging as deep as 1200 feet, American scientists have found absolutely nothing. They have concluded that 5000 years ago, Americans were already using mobile phones." |
