My former colleague's teen-age daughter began dating around the same time she got her driver's license.
Her mother admitted she didn't know which worried her more. She found out one Saturday night when her daughter returned from a swimming date at her boyfriend's house. The girl had driven to his house, and when she got home she was in tears, ignoring the dogged young man who followed her.
"I'm sorry," he said. "I've never done anything like that before, and it'll never happen again."
"What did he do?" my friend exclaimed.
"Oh, Mom," her daughter wailed, "while I had the car door open, he backed his car down the driveway and demolished my door!" Her mother heaved a sigh of relief.
"Oh, thank God," she said. |
